SET FOR GREENER PASTURES

“Have belief in what you do. Have confidence in yourself, and you will go somewhere.” because of her fascination with just about everything in life Anusha C. Charparala seems well at ease in the domain of Genetics. She considers herself fortunate because her parents never placed any hurdles before her even though the natural option for them would have been to push her into their profession. Her parents have their own medical practice –Vijaya Nursing Home, Hyderabad.
Currently, she is working as an associate trainee at the Indo –America Cancer Institute and Research Center, Hyderabad. Anusha plans to pursue a double masters or doctoral studies in the United States, whichever of the two come first. Thereafter, she is keen to get hands on exposure before returning home.
Understandable, it’s the giant strides the US has made in the field of Genetics that holds prospects for the young achiever.
“There is so much to learn and getting hands- on experience will not be a bad idea before I return back home,” says Anusha.
Anusha recalls growing up without the additional burden many youngsters of her age go through. “My parents have always been encouraging,’ she says “All they insisted upon was to be really good in whatever we opted to do.” Anusha has a younger brother. “The clarity of purpose and open mind helped her inculcate a sense of devotion and commitment. She insists: She has always been lucky to because all the institutions she has gone through have supported all her inclinations.
Coming to the GCC was obviously a new experience for Anusha. It was the furthest she had come away from home but she easily adjusted to her setting. This helped her understand the value of relationships coming into contact with people from diverse backgrounds. “We had our ups and downs but overall, it was great experience. I have become more independent.
She describes herself as: A person one who is always happy with small things in life.
DID YOU KNOW: Anusha completed her schooling at the Hindu Public School in Hyderabad, Bachelor of Science degree from CMG College and GCC where she got the third rank in the M.Sc. Genetics examinations of Bangalore University in 2007.
BEST KEPT SECRET: Like other ambitious youngsters, she wanted to be ‘somebody’ when she is finally done with her studies.
SHE ALWAYS DREAMT OF: Being an acclaimed Professor at some stage in my life.

ABOUT HER LECTURERS: They were very supportive, helpful and went beyond the syllabus. What stood out: The infrastructure, excellent exposure and the study tours and discussions helped us sharpen out skills.
SHE NEVER EXPECTED: A University rank but when it came, it was a pleasant surprise.
The rank: Added responsibility to stand out...do well.
At college: She was apart of the throw ball team and took a leading role in Bi o Rujivith –Cultural activities, quiz and science club activities.
