Gardenian Of The Month

From Tibet with LOVE

Name: Namgyal Wangmo
Class: Final Year (Nursing)
Locale: Garden City College of Nursing

a final year student at the Garden City College of Nursing, Namgyal Wangmo was born in the Tibetan settlement of Mundgod in Karnataka, a few hours drive from the city of Bengaluru. Later, she spent more than a decade in Tamil Nadu where she did her schooling. Her name beholds sincerity and hard work even as she professes a strong spiritual inclination to her Buddhist faith. Staying away from her home country has not in anyway posed challenges to the caring and dignified young achiever. If anything, she has enjoyed lovely days through the journey of life making her adaptable, caring and affectionate to all those who have come in her path. She has a twin brother and an ambivert natured girl. Namgyal shared a few words of joy being the Gardenian of the Month with the GCC Correspondent Vibha Luvenia.M.
Excerpts from the Chat:
GCC World: Tell us something about your family and childhood.
Namgyal: I come from a middle class family of five. I have a sister and younger brother.
My childhood was spent in a boarding school in the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu. I was born in Karnataka but spent my childhood in Chennai.
GCC World: Being in Bangalore. How has been this experience?
Namgyal: It has been a great experience. I have made good friends. The weather, the place and the expenses, everything is comfortable and satisfactory here. I could not have asked for more.
GCC World: Why Nursing? What next?
Namgyal: I love caring for people. Initially, I dreamt of a profession where I could teach, a career in medicine or engineering. Later, I chose Bio-Mathematics as my major subjects. So, my friends suggested that I should pursue a course in nursing through which I could be in both medical and teaching professions with the possibilities of making a living and serving people.
Next: I would like to work for a year, and then take up a master’s degree course.
Later, I would like to be a lecturer.
GCC World: You are a good orator. Your inspiration?
Namgyal: Again. I can only give the credit to my school. I was bold enough so my teachers encouraged me in all that I did.
GCC World: Any message to Gardenians?
To students:
Winning is not a major thing in life. Don’t lose hope because of little things. Participation is more important because it’ll give you a lot of experiences. Never get into depression and think it is the end of the world just because you couldn’t win something. Wait for a chance and work towards winning, always.
College Fraternity:
My gratitude to the management of my college, faculty and students for their support at all times.
