Reporter's Diary

The Biennial Aero India was a five day event opening from 11th February. The biggest air show of the South Asia attracted more than 550 firms participating from across the globe. For the citizens and guests of Bengaluru, the splendid manoeuvres of fighter aircrafts was a breath- taking experience. GCC World correspondent Rahul Devnath, provides a glimpse of the happening.

SARANG Aerobatic Team
The SARANG aerobatic team consist of four Advance Light Helicopters, Dhruv, manufactured indigenously by HAL. SARANG team is one of the few of its kind in the world.  
LCA –Tejas
The Light Combat Aircraft, Tejas was a star attraction at the show. Being
developed indigenously, the aircraft boasts of full composite air frame and
carries a variety of ordnance. Still under development LCA is the mirror of
Indian military technology.
 
Boeing F/A-18 Super hornet
American F/ A-18, is a major competition in 126 MRCA deal for
the IAF. Made by Boeing, it’s one of the most lethal aircraft in USAF’s inventory today.
 
Air to Air Refuelling
A pair of Mirage-2000 and a IL-78MKI, displayed the IAF’s
force multiplier capability.
 
Surya Kiran
The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team or SKAT is the
flag bearer of Indian Air Force. The team usually
consist of 9 Kiran MKII aircraft manufactured
indigenously by HAL. The team has performed at
various places in India and across the globe.
