MY BEST MOMENTS: Everyday!
Mostly in Delhi with friends!
WORST MOMENTS: Those when I
leave a city, leaving friends and
acquaintances behind, when I need to
move on to another, a new place with
new people.
PREFERENCE: Elegant colors
preferably bottle green, hazel and
blue.
INSPIRATION: My role models are
successful mentors who have achieved
triumph and whom I can look up to
as an inspiration to motivate me to
prove myself in whatever I do. My
Dad!
LOVE: I love to be praised,
something which encourages me to
do better. I love to meet people and
hate people who grow on the hard
work of others.
FEARS: God and being under
estimated for my dedication. |
MOTTO IN LIFE: Life is not about
making mistakes; it’s all about
learning from them.
MESSAGE:
To Gardenians: Live each moment in
GCC, for college life will never be the
same ever again!
TO GCC FRATERNITY: GCC has
given me a lot even though I have
given back less. Being my final
semester, I’d surely miss the fun,
freedom and joy of being a
Gardenian!
TO JUNIORS: Don’t be
disappointed for staying away from
home, for life is full of new
experiences and this experience will
be once in a lifetime and will never
return! So smile through your days
here and be a part of the GCC

PERSONAL
BEST FRIENDS: Zeeshan and |
Dhanya... For always standing beside
me, through all ups and downs and
trusting me with blind faith. And in
GCC, Deepali!
BEST MOMENT: Whenever I meet
my best friends, since I hope to meet
them over and over again in life, and
hope is something that never dies!
HEARTFELT THANKS: To all
reading this! It’s an honour in itself.
To be more precise, my family,
friends, and teachers who I love and
respect the most!

Good Food, Great Music,

It took us a little while to realize the numerous feats
Saptarshi Chatterjee has accomplished so far and the
reason you will hardly miss him at any activity of the
Microbiology Club of Garden City College. Not surprising,
the final year Master of Science in Microbiology student
commands great respect from his lecturers and peers alike.
Hailing form the City of Joy, Kolkata, the soft spoken
gentleman insists he has always accepted life and what it
has bestowed on him although he nurtures lofty dreams
and works hard to realize his goals. In a freewheeling
discussion with GCC World correspondents, Shah
Dharmik Nitin and Vibha Luvenia M, the young achiever
speaks on being bestowed the honour - Gardenian of the
Month. Excerpts from the chat:
GCC WORLD: CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING
BESTOWED THE HONOR. KINDLY INTRODUCE
YOURSELF TO OUR READERS.
SAPTARSHI: (Thoughtful) I am a down to earth person
driven by the force of humanity, loves mankind and dream
of making some contribution to the field of science,
Microbiology to be specific.
GCC WORLD: SHARE A FEW WORDS ABOUT
YOUR FAMILY AND CHILDHOOD.
SAPTARSHI: I am from a family of four – my parents and
grandmother. As the only son, I became aware early in life
about my responsibilities as well as the expectations of my
family. My childhood days were spent in Kolkata, West
Bengal. I did my schooling from Vivekananda Mission
School and Barisha High School, Kolkata.
GCC WORLD: FIVE YEARS AT GCC. HOW HAS
BEEN THE EXPERIENCE?
SAPTARSHI: I must say that this has been by far the most |
important phase of my life. The experience will be a great
asset in my life.
GCC WORLD: LIFE IN BANGALORE, THE PEOPLE,
ATTITUDE AND MALL CULTURE. WHAT DO HAVE
TO SAY?
SAPTARSHI: Life in Bangalore has been great because of
its weather. Aside, the people and their hospitality has
always made me feel at home when though I am miles away
from my own. Personally, I don’t hang out at the clubs or
malls so I guess it is left to the individual to make a choice.
GCC WORLD: YOUR PROFILE IS REPLETE WITH
NUMEROUS SCHEDULES AND UNENDING QUEST
FOR KNOWLEDGE. WE WON’T ASK YOU HOW
YOU MAKE TIME BUT TELL US WHY YOU MAKE
TIME FOR SO MANY THINGS.
SAPTARSHI: I believe in giving my hundred percent in the
work I do. Therefore, in my field, I try to explore every
object that comes by my way.
GCC WORLD: WHY DID YOU OPT FOR LIFE
SCIENCES?
SAPTARSHI: Life fascinates me and so is the study of life. I
decided to pursue Microbiology because of my interests to
explore the world less known about the Microbial World.
GCC WORLD: FUTURE PLANS, CAREER AS WELL
AS PERSONAL GOALS?
