The next which followed was more promising from the GCC team. The Designer’s round Wet Desire was dedicated to the people of Bangalore, who face the unexpected evening showers in the city.
Designer Sounava Das glamorously played with all the vivacious colors on his garments
along with magnificent props and unseen attractive accessories which made the ramp stunningly vibrant and made it come alive. On his comments about his thoughts on the same, he says, “Being a designer was always a dream and Style Warz made it come true. Garden City College gave me this platform and I am grateful to our beloved chairman Dr Joseph V G. if given an opportunity in the future, I would love to portray my experimental fashion trends. Finally I would like to say that Fashion is Undefinable.”
The choreographer of the winning team, Abhirup Biswas says, “Style awards is a no – barred event which gave opportunity not only to the fashion students, but also for the students of other courses to showcase their talents. It has been a great opportunity for many of us.”
Make up artist, J S Roy was full of enthusiasm all through the event as he says, “It was a good and glamorous show where a good piece of art and dedicated work of the designers was portrayed.”
Nimmy, a student of 1st Semester B.Com, one of the models who walked the ramp for Sounava says,“ My experiences with Sounava (Shwane) has been a great and a memorable one and the best part about his garments is that the fitting and the finishing is just perfect.”
Eugen, a 2nd year BBM student and a model at the show who came in 5th, says, “It was a great experience working with Sounava (Shawne) in the Style Warz 2008. I have walked for many people but I was not as glad as I have been working with him. Shawne would also be there at the right time and would do whatever we asked for. If in future I get a chance again for working with Shawne, I would love to do that.” Eugen was also in the top 5 of Ms. Style awards.
The top 5 Style Awards finalists, including Dimple who came in 3rd, are going to walk the ramp for Nitish Chandra’s next Autumn – Winter Collection which shall be held very soon.
Garden City College was the overall winning team along with its designs and the choreography which was highly appreciated by one and all present in the event. The show was a grand success and brought great acclaim to the institution and its emerging talents have reached far out in the fashion world.
