Finishing School, a new concept on college campuses, stands as a link in the long term to professional careers. Even with the best of infrastructure and educational background, students
passing out of educational establishments are never equipped
with the requisite knowledge and skill sets needed to stand out in an increasingly competitive work environment. It is not only academics but a good personality,

Rcareer orientation and command over communication that will propel an aspirant to the apex of a professional career.

With the support and encouragement from Dr. Joseph V.G., Chairman, Garden City Group of Institutions, Model Paljor Gyabak, Mr. Elegant and Best Model-Gladrags Mega Model Manhunt Contest and an alumnus of GCC has been successful in providing the finishing touches to an enthusiastic batch of students at the newly launched Garden City College Finishing School (GCFS).

With a music video slated for release and a number of modeling projects in hand, Model Paljor Gyabak took time of his hectic schedule to impart skills to the first batch of 15 students from different backgrounds at the college. The message was clear, 'Bring out your attitude' that helped them imbibe confidence to take the myriad challenges before them. “Carry yourself well and put emphases on better communication”, are the model's twin mantras to success.

Contented with how his students gained immensely from his sessions, he is all set to help them undergo a complete make-over session come March 2009. Modest and sharing an informal relationship with his students, the 'friendly touch' he brought to the sessions made them feel at ease to fall back on him when in doubt.

On the last day of the intensive grooming sessions, Suparna Chakraborty and Shreya Ghosh
engaged the model in a freewheeling discussion.

Excerpts from the Interview:

GCC World:On the last day of the intensive grooming sessions, Suparna Chakraborty and Shreya Ghosh engaged the model in a freewheeling discussion.Model Paljor:They have taken to the path of improvement, but it will take time to reach their goals. I have shown them the path. I am optimistic they will sincerely work on it and put into practice what they have learnt.

GCC World:How do you define Fashion?Model Paljor:I believe Fashion is todo with one's personality and how you define yourself to the outer world. Going with the trends is not fashion, but wear what suits you and how you carry yourself well is what Fashion is all about.

GCC World:Do you think the students will imbibe whatever you have taught them?Model Paljor:I will be in touch with the students and try to solve all their queries. I will see to it that they do not stagnate and continue nurturing themselves to build their personality.

GCC World: What are the things the fashion industry has taught you? Model Paljor: Something which I have learnt is to uphold one's principles. Modesty is one quality which adds a feather to your cap. I learnt this lesson while shooting for the Fast track ad which happens to be my first big break from John Abraham. Even after his shots were taken, he stayed back to help me get the right shot and also gave me a few useful tips.

GCC World: Which are the brands you have endorsed?Model Paljor:My first print ad was for Kingfisher. I have also modeled for Lenovo, Lee Jeans and also walked the ramp at the Lakme Fashion Week. “This is not a fashion platform. It is more about grooming yourself and being self- confident. This is certainly a place for personality development where five mantras are considered – Determination, Passion, Confidence, Concentration and Patience.”-Model Paljor Gyabak on GCFS.
