This democrat, tried to popularize himself among Americans by promising them to generate more jobs in their homeland and to cut down on outsourcing business to countries like India. This had bothered Indians a lot as almost 60% of our youth is employed by the Business process outsourcing units. But later, he rephrased his statement by saying that he would slash the tax rates for the businesses creating more and more jobs in America and he did not necessarily mean India. But India is still on crossroads to his statement.
Though McCain had the advantage of being a Republican, he had a bad luck due to the bankruptcy of the investment giant Lehmann Brothers. He had to face contradictory responses to this situation and he had to favor the stand of the Bush’s administration when it came to the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. McCain couldn’t disentangle his campaign from the George Bush’s toxic legacy.
Financial slowdown and economic turmoil was something Obama could handle better than McCain. Obama has already built up an impressive team of economic advisers and provided evidence that he has the smartest lot to turn the American economy around.
Barack Obama’s victory is made sweeter by the fact that for the first time since 1995, Democrats will control both the House and the Senate, giving them complete control over the government. Now, let’s see how the elected President Obama handles the most important position in the world, whose decisions matters a lot to all other countries in the world.
