In the world of Fashion you have to give up more than just your morals”. No. This is not an excerpt from any Fashion magazine. “ It is the caption of Madhur Bhandarkar’s latest offering “Fashion”. The director, who is well known for his thought provoking movies, has for another time preferred to stick to his cliché by throwing light on the darkness behind all the glamour and glitz in the fashion world.

Meghna Mathur (Priyanka Chopra), a small town girl, travels all along from Chandigarh to
Mumbai to sell off her dreams of being a super model. Her sharp looks, self confidence and high aspirations easily catch the attention of the fashion world gurus and soon she replaces her predecessor Shonali Gujral (Kangana Ranaut), the face of the glamour world. Meghna is lucky enough to taste success on the very first go and soon she becomes the ‘show stopper’ in all the fashion shows. She is transformed from a small town, middle class girl to a super model with lots of attitude. Possessed by the ambition of flying high in life, she soon loses all her moral values to be “professional” and brushes up with being an
alcoholic and a drug addict. These are the so-called “common” habits
of the dwellers of the fashion world,
of course, Shonali not being an
exception. It is not shocking at all
when all these things bring in a
sudden downfall in her high soaring
career. Not being able to cope up
with the humiliation followed by
the series of unfortunate incidents,
a shattered, intellectually dead
Meghna, decides to quit this harsh
world of glitterati and packs her
bags to get back to her roots. Far
away from this slimmer and shine of
