the highest motorable road in the world, having traversed from the southernmost tip of the country, Kanyakumari was not just another achievement. This became the f lagship event for our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the Year. 2008- 2009 is being marked as the GCC Year of Road Safety.

At the campus, the debut of Renaissance as a B- School Event attracted students from across the country and catapulted them to be the Best Managers. Better still were
the awards galore from every corner – Deccan Herald Best BSchool Jury Award, Asian Brand S ummi t ' s B e s t B - S c h o o l Leadership Award for Nurturing Leadership among Students and the highest st ate award – Karnataka Rajyothsava Award in the field of Education for Professor V.B.Coutinho, President of GCC Governing Council were the other testimonials of our commitment and devotion to be dreamers, achievers and winners this year.

On the threshold of 2009, we are gearing up for another landmark event. The Crystal Celebrations marking 15 years of the establishment of our education testament beckons. However, in all our glory, we must not shut our eyes and ears from the life changing events which continue to shake the conscience of our great nation and the base of our civilization.

The world today is awash with events that have had serious consequences on the day to day life that we lead. As concerned citizens, we have to play a more sensitive role and be more responsive to the needs of our society in the days to come. We must join hands and work with our sisters and brothers to combat the spiraling and dreadful malaise of terrorism. At a time when our nation is facing wave after wave of well orchestrated terror attacks on its soil, we must all come together and fight the perpetrators of such violence against innocent people. At the same time, let us pray for the victims of terrorism and hope the Almighty will provide them the strength to go through the trying times.

My humble mes sage to Gardenians is a simple one. Let us take time to ponder during the festive seasons and pledge to show compassion in all our activities, maintain peace and harmony for the betterment of our country and the world at large. Aside, let us live as responsible citizens and human beings.
I wish you all a Prosperous New
Year 2009.

With warm regards,

Dr. Joseph V.G.
