AN INCIDENT THAT occurred just recently in my life taught me a great deal and it was somewhat unusual. AI learned it the fun way. Let me tell you how. I woke up one fine morning, early as usual, and the pain that takes to get out of bed got over me once again. But, that day seemed to be different. It was the day of our trip to the water park, Wonder La. At once I realized that the day had finally arrived and from then on it took me not more than two seconds to jump out of bed and get set to enjoy the day ahead, which I expected to be full of fun and joy. The weather was pleasant as it could ever be and it seemed to be a perfect day for the excitement that lay ahead of me. I and my friends had been planning this trip for days now and finally it was there. At the drop of a hat we had agreed for the wonderful fun filled day. It was decided. All arrangements were made and the cool morning breeze couldn’t make me feel better than I already was feeling. I eagerly got well equipped with all the things I would need for the day. Not to forget the magic box, the camera which would capture the fun moments I and my friends would spend together. I packed my bags and set out smiling my best. We were about 2 dozen of us, and were set to meet at a landmark. I set our early as a precaution (as I usually on other days get late), and realized my excitement when I saw that I was the first one to arrive. We all gathered and finally our journey began with much dynamic and lively vigor
The journey was not dull either. Our basic safety necessities were bought, which included the first aid kit and a few gums and snacks. My favorite last seat was waiting for me and from then on it was all fun. We hooted, sang songs and laughed our hearts and were screaming with joy. About an hour after we boarded the hired bus, we reached our dream destination. Indeed, we showed the energy we had in store which refused to come down till the end of the day.
My best friend was by my side and our cameras were out in an instance. The beauty of the place was breathtaking as it was situated amidst the hills and the lush greenery added extra xing to our excitement. We were all in full mood to enjoy and let our hair down to enjoy the day till 6pm. The tickets were bought and after a quick security check up we ran in to forget all worries. We got our lockers to keep our belongings and rushed towards the enchanting rides.
The dry rides were not dry, it was full of fun and the rhythm of the joy floated in the air. It gave us goose bumps but still we enjoyed a lot. There was a sort of fright and my frame seemed to be shivering, but they added to the excitement. One such ride which blew my guts out, but was equally thrilling was one which took us on a full 360 degree turn. Before I realized, I was hanging upside down and that feeling was a nightmare. I and my friends were motivated enough, and by the time I realized I was screaming with joy and hooting and my fear was gone in a flash.
The most fun part came finally when we went in for the water and splash rides. We were fit in to a wooden cart which drove itself from a great height, and hit the pool of water with a splash on our whole frames. Drenched and excited, we moved on to the other ones with equal zeal. The other rides were equally fantastic, some of them where the Lazy River, The Vertical and others. The Rain Disco was the best part, where we danced with water splashing from all sides, and with the flow of rocking music. Still not losing our enthusiasm, we went on for the Merry Ghosts. We thought it would be scary, but it seemed funnier. Instead of clutching each other’s arms, we were laughing and shouting. The wave pool did not let us down. I was a bit
scared as I did not know how to swim, but my friends assured me that there was nothing to worry about. We just had to jump with the waves. It was no fear after that. For another 3 hours we were there, and to add to our amazement, it started to pour.
The Giant Wheel was the best ride of the day, and it took us about 13 floors above ground level and the view was breath taking. The dusk was setting in and the view of Bangalore from the top was exhilarating. We admired the beautiful and colorful life of the city from the pinnacle.
We were shivering from the cold and the drenching made us heavier because of our clothes. Tired at last, we retired to our locker rooms for a quick shower. We really craved for a hot mug of steaming coffee to satisfy our palates.
The day was coming to an end. The fun was apart from the one incident which threatened to ruin my day. All in all, it was all going good until the moment after we changed and had dinner which we were craving for. We had forgotten all about our hunger during the day but now it took over. We ordered dosas and left the place contented with loads of unforgettable memories, snapped and saved both in the cameras and in our minds. After dinner it was time to board the bus which would get us all back to our homes.
All of a sudden, I felt almost like I had a panic attack. The incident stirred me completely and was about to ruin my day of vibrant fun. It occurred to me that I had lost my wallet and that sent waves of fear. First, I did not know what to do, and I realized that my eyes were welling up with tears. A wild goose chase began and me and my some of my friends started about to hunt for the missing wallet, which contained my most vital things, including my college ID card, my ATM card, and some hard cash. I had to give up in the end.
This taught me a lesson for life to be careful with my belongings, no matter how much fun I had. I learned to conquer my fears and I succeeded in it. I was proud to have got over my beliefs that I could not do things which I indeed enjoyed during the full filled day. The moral
of the story was clear to me. To me having fun now means having a good time and being careful and responsible in future. It might sound a bit ironical, but after the hard lesson the day taught me, I have no regrets. I had my part of pleasure and at the end of the day that is all that counts.
