At The Village
The volunteers reached Horamavu village with all the tools ready for the projects planned. Looking around the village, the team realized that the village had already lost its beauty mostly due to the real estate boom. The main problem facing the villagers is the huge number of mosquitoes, which gives them sleepless nights. These get multiplied due to the unhygienic environment. The drainage system is not at all good in most part of the village.
Many visits were made to the village even before the camp and the following works were identified:
(i) A survey of the village to know the educational background and health conditions of the people.
(ii) An awareness program to prevent environmental pollution and improve health conditions.
(iii) Clearing of clogged drains to the extent possible.
(iv) Road leveling program.
