Soon it will be time to say, adieu. And as the old order changeth and a new one unfolds, it becomes imperative during Graduation to honor and salute the spirit of enquiry, sincerity, hard work, determination and discipline of the students during their tenure. Still on the scores, in all these occasions, it is obvious that the achievers –youngsters have left their imprint on campus and provide hope of making a huge difference in the new roles they will soon take upon themselves. How else would you explain the remarkable artistry, the exuberance and talent on display by those we all assume are on a different mission - academic sojourn? The passing out parade of the NCC cadets, the first of its kind in the NCC circles was one such occasion and the post graduate students the other. The students deserve credit for the accolades they brought to the college and more importantly, the joy and the positive influence they had on all those associated with them. At the NCC Passing out, the guest of honour on the occasion was Shri K. S. N. Chikkerur, IPS, Inspector General of Police (Forests) while Dr. Joseph V. G., Chairman, Garden City Group of Institutions presided over the function. A drill competition was conducted as part of the events lined up during the occasion. The contest pitted the cadets who won the best marching contingent in Group 4 category on Republic Day at Manekshaw Parade, Bangalore. The two teams vying for honours were Alpha Company led by JUO Kishley Chhetri and the Bravoformer was adjudged the winner much to the joy of the guests. Later, the guest of honour presented colourful citations to the outgoing cadets, CSUO Joe James Christy, JUO Kishley Chhetri, CSM Bhaskar Chaudhary, CSM Shashi Shankar Singh, CQMS Sunil .S. Kharwar, Sgt. Navneet Dwivedi and Sgt. Bijan Kumar Dalai in recognition of their contributions to the activities of NCC. This was followed by scintillating cultural presentation featuring songs, dances and rib- splitting skits. The splendid evening came to an end with the rendition of the national anthem. |
