Acheerful person who has always made use of every opportunity to showcase her Atalents, it did not come as a surprise that Remya N. Raj was adjudged the 'Best Outgoing Student of Nursing during the Academic Year 2006-07. Her intelligence and creativity have only added to her success. GCC World caught up with the talented nursing students at the Annual Graduation Day Fete and returned charmed.

Excerpts from the Interview:
1. Tell us about your formative years?
I was born in Kerala, did my 10th Class from Shillong and returned to my home state where I completed my s c h o o l i n g . T h r o u g h o u t my educational life, I am glad that my parents have never imposed their interests on me. Whatever I have wanted to pursue, they have allowed me to do exactly that.

2. Being awarded the outstanding student, how does it feel?
This was something which I had never thought of about. The award came as a
pleasant surprise. But having said so, I think I deserved it. I have always believed in hard work and sincerity. The devotion and dedication to work has helped me reap rich dividends. I am grateful to my lecturers, parents and friends who helped me in all possible ways.

3. Experiences on the campus?
It has been a wonderful time here at GCC. The encouragement I have always received from my parents and lecturers has been the greatest motivating factor. I have always s e cur ed good ma rks in my examinations and being the President of Students Nurses Association (SNA) in itself means a lot to me.

4. Tell us something about SNA?
Students Nurses Association brings together students of nursing. And for me, it has been a great privilege to serve as the president. I have gained a lot of experience and recognition that comes with the position. Also, I have gained confidence because of the nature of the work

5. What has been your contribution to the college?
4President of SNA 4Associated with AIDS Awareness Program at St. John's Medical College. 4Participated in sketching and essay writing competitions. 4Bagged the Best Student Award for Academics.

6. Advice to Gardenians?
All I can say it that they should so their best in whatever they have opted to pursue and not to wait till the last moment.

7. Looking ahead?
I am aiming for lofty goals in life. I do intend to do my MBA with s p e c i a l i z a t i o n i n Ho s p i t a l Administration.
