Graduation Day is not only all about good-byes but what it takes to depart away from dear ones and a place they have always known as a second home. Be it from teachers or their fellow classmates. After all, it is the school which gives the idea of what A, B, C, Ds is all about.

It was an emotional evening at Deva Matha Central School as the students of Class 10 assembled for the farewell celebrations at their auditorium. Not even for a second did the tears cease to flow as the students stood witness to all that was unfolding before them. As the clock struck 5:30 pm, it was the turn of the chief guest, Shri A. R. K. Menon, President of the School's Managing Committee to light the lamp marking the beginning of the festivities.

As a tribute to the outgoing students, Class 9 students rendered a farewell song and paid glowing tribute to their seniors on the verge of beginning a new phase in their lives.

Then it was time for speeches with the Principal, Mrs. Lata Mathew calling upon the parents to help their children dream. “Guide them to dream and help them to work towards their goals,” she said.

Coming to the students, she appealed to them to imbibe human values and never to forget the importance what they have leant in the journey of life.” She then focused on the significance of what she called the Three H's- Humane, Humility and Hard work. "There is no substitute for hard work. Humility gives forth success. I hope you will contribute to the society in your own unique ways.”

Shri Menon was extremely delighted to be in their midst. "Ordinary people have no place in today's world,” he informed the students. “Students who are adventurous have a vibrant future and will make a mark in their chosen disciplines.,” he added.
Mrs. Roach, a French teacher and the guardian of Sahana, one of the outgoing students appreciated the remarkable feats of the students. So too was Mrs. Saraswati Reddy, the mother of Likita Reddy. "Once in lifetime, we all have to depart from school,” she observed. “This function reminds me of our golden days in school."
