On their part, the students like Siddhartha S of Class 10 who spoke was so overwhelmed by the occasion: “I simply don't have a word, a sentence or just letter to describe how grateful we are to the GCC Group of Institutions and our school. Why only these institutions, but everyone responsible for our success. It is 10% happiness and 90% sorrow to leave the school." Shruthi Padmanabhan, the vice captain of the school felt the roots of education are bitter but the fruits are sweeter. “All one can say is that we have shared great moments, we fought together, and some of us must now pack up and be ready for the next challenges. Let me assure our parents, teachers and well-wishers who have accompanied us in this journey that we are well prepared. I know that in our midst, there are architects, engineers, doctors, radio jockeys and many more. Thanks to the support we got from this institution. To all those who are staying back, you have the right environment to achieve all that you aspire for in life.” The message perhaps encapsulated the mood at the school's auditorium.
Thereafter, the presentation of mementos took place. This was followed by a moving gesture from the outgoing students who presented to the principal a set of materials for use at the school. One by one the students lit their candles symbolising the light of education. Shruthi Padmanabhan was adjudged the “Best All Rounder” while Likita .S. Reddy, a confident and responsible girl was given the “Outstanding Student Award.”
Aiming high in their lives, Likita wants to be an architect drawing from her fondness for sketching and her parent's preoccupation of landscaping. Shruti is keen to take to the field of Bio-technology. |
