Every student dreams of graduation day at some point in life. And reinforcements are provided by the media in form of advertisements. Recall the Cadbury ad?

The final year students of Garden City College celebrated this much-awaited day recently. They had gathered at the college premises and what a splendid sight it was to see. All around, all that could be seen were more the 1,200 odd students in their black robes and different coloured sashes. The girls looked like young sirens in sarees while the boys were a picture of gentility in their black and white formal attire.

The formal function was conducted at the college auditorium. The DG and IG of police Karnataka state, Mr. KR Srinivasan, IPS was the chief guest at the function. IG of Police Shri KSN Chikkerur, IPS was the guest of honour and the Most. Rev. Fr. Dr. Paul Putthanagady blessed the august gathering. The chairman, Dr. Joseph V.G. presided over the function. This was followed by the welcome address by the Vice Principal, Mr. Pious Thomas. He wished the graduating students prosperity, happiness and good health. Then verses from Bible, Gita and Quran were read out to the gathering. Subsequent to this, the January issue of GCC World saw the light of the day as it was released by the chief guest. Then came the big by the chief guest. Then came the big moment. It was time for the outgoing students to take the oath. The students promised to follow the college motto- 'Emphasis is on life'.
