With an array of glittering medals, the result of his rare commitment, devotion, dedication and unparalleled discipline in the police force, it does not come as a surprise that Sri. K.R Srinivasan, IPS, has taken charge of the highest office of the police force in the land – Director General and Inspector General of Police, Karnataka.
Awarded the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 1990, a decade later, he received the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service, and the State's Dasara Award.
Sri Srinivasan brings to the office a wealth of experience and unsullied record in a career straddling more than three decades.
For this officer who has held various positions and come out with unblemished record, serving in these high profile positions come naturally to him. He has held various positions in the force in the districts of Chikmagalur, Bellary, Bijapur, Mysore and Bangalore.
As the Principal, Police Training School, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Southern Range, Mysore, Deputy Inspector of Police Eastern Range, Devangere, Deputy Inspector of Police, Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement, Inspector General of Police Training and Additional Director General of Police, Telecommunication, Transport and Modernisation, his work ethics stands out. Prior to his present appointment, Sri Srinivasan was the Director General of Police, Corps of Detectives (DOD), Training, Special Units and Economic Offences, Bangalore.
Undoubtedly, the responsibilities that come with these positions are immense and a testimony of the caliber of this officer and gem of a gentleman.
