Welcome to world of ball-room opera, the gleaming dancing delights of “tango” and it comes live and special in the vigorously playful soundtrack Pyar Ki Ek Kahani. Melodramatically lyrical to the core, it narrates the nostalgic love story through parables of love, pain and pleasures of lovers. Javed Akhtar's lyrically affluent work makes positive vibes for this synchronized floor dance number. Sensuously eclectic Sunidhi Chauhan and Gayatri Iyer smoothens the sentiments in their mellifluously vocal flow that amalgamates amicably with modulating jazz musical work. Vishal-Shekhar delivers note-worthy show but this “boogie-woogie” number deserves to be shouldered well with actor's dancing dexterity to make its special for dancing freaks. The euphoric romanticism that gleamed to fashion in tracks like Kaisi Yeh Rut (Dil Chahta Hai) makes shimmering presence in colorfully presentable number Halke Halke. Neeraj Shridhar's groovy punch gets shade better from his last work and prefers to be higher note with this number. The soft and tender guitarstrumming gives it a titillating tinge that gels well with the fervently drumming and percussions in the background. The soundtrack has the “yuppie” touch that should prosper its prospect with urban listeners. Hear it again and again if you have been glued to “Bombay Vikings” earlier hits and this will positively make your evening special. Disco beats fillers makes noises as the mood gets high with bumpy beats in delightfully rendered Halke Halke (remix). Vishal-Shekhar picks up their trendiest original work to give album its only remix soundtrack and it makes things work on dancing floors. After the funky Sufi Rock, the stage is set to chill out with Baul Jazz and Rock as the album proceedings unfold with instrumental soundtrack Hath Dhore Niye Chalo. The rip-roaring and sizzling instrumental work by Funcinternational works primarily on keyboard generated techno-beats with periodic repetition of Hath Dhore Niye Chalo (Bengali lyrics) in echoed renditions. Its daunting impact makes it more situational than hip-shaking stuff for dancing floors. Vishal-Shekhar trendy musical presentation comes special for urban listeners with bunch of lively and energetic soundtracks. It has scintillating results in Sajanji Vaari Vaari and Halke Halke and has innovative edge with Pyar Ki Kahani and Hath Dhore Niye Chalo but still fall short of a deserving super hit soundtrack. |
