While one can appreciate the belief in a higher power and the credibility attached to the benefits of a spiritual component in life, it is simply not possible to plan the entirety or our daily existence according to pre-determined dates or timeframes. Examinations aren't scheduled according to the movements of planets and neither are countless international flights. Yet, they do take off and land on schedule with almost above 95% rates of success in safety – quite a high average when you compare your chances of getting run over by road traffic!

So does this mean that we set about on a quest to investigate every belief that we have ever been taught or exposed to? Certainly not. As said before, faith in religion and faith in a higher power are guiding forces in our lives to steer us on a correct path to achieving our goals. However, we do have to draw a line so that we do not get emotionally dependent on the 'right' time to do things or the 'right' way to negate certain perfectly harmless occurrences. There are hotels in many parts of the world with a thirteenth floor and till date, a number has never been upheld as a criminal in a court of law if anything untoward happened in a room 13, a floor 13 or a house numbered 13. Similarly, countless events are not under our control and it hardly seems sensible to selectively apply the considerations of 'good' dates or times only on occasions that can be completely controlled.

After all, there are many beautiful gifts of life that come to us when the time is appropriate and we would lose the joy of sharing in them just because they happened to come on a Monday or a Thursday!
