Editorial Musings

Dear Reader,

Let me begin by wishing you a Happy and Prosperous New Year 2008!

It is that time of the year when we believe in fresh start for most things. We would have come up with a few ‘New Year Resolutions’ and depending on our will power would have stuck by most of them. in the first month, it is always easier to follow our resolutions. The problem arises in the subsequent months and various temptations entice us.

A new year is also a time of unsullied expectations and hopes. We decide to take a better viewpoint of the world we live in; an optimistic account of our relationships with people; a buoyant faith in humanity and its intricacies; an expectant perspective on the economy of the country, and for that matter of the world.

If there is one promise we make to ourselves, and I am sure it is the most common and yet the most singular, is that we will become a better person. For the world marred by destruction and mistrust, it is a great feat that we still try to correct our own selves rather than trying to fix the person next door. It just proves that there is still hope for mankind.

The bygone year was a bittersweet experience. There were many moments which will go down as firsts in the history and then there were incidents that would always make us fold our hands and pray for the well-being of this world. Our cover story will take you through the success of MCA students who are going to Malaysia. We also have other interesting segments for you through the pyramids of Egypt.

Our monthly columns will be an icing on the cake. Arm Chair Travelogue take you through the mists and roads of Ooty and it will be an inspiring journey, believe me. Jam Spot, for our music fans, on Mudvayne will be a real treat. Hot spot covers 20 ft High, a European restaurant on Church Street in our wonderful city of Bangalore.

It is a wonderful world we live in. let us make the best of it and give it back something substantial. I wish you the best in life.
