Campus Kudos

Most alumni agree that the college has grown quite a lot in these years and feel proud to be associated with the institution. Excitement seems to be the foremost emotion when Mr. Mohsin Fazil, a former student of Biotech at the college relates his experiences on the occasion. Says Mr. Fazil, who is working with Reliance at present: “It is awesome to be back on the campus. It is great. I am feeling on top of the world. I met old friends and also went around the campus. The days I spent at GCC were great. I still remember how we used to bunk classes and had fun on the campus.” The alumni also feel pleased to see the progress that their Alma mater has made in all these years. Mr. Sunil Pandey considers it as a change for the better that is beneficial for the students and the growth of the college. Mr. Mohsin also expresses his views on the matter: “The new dinning hall is really cool. I am happy that GCC has made a name for itself not only in India but across the globe. I feel proud to be an alumnus of GCC.”

The alumni of the college enjoyed 'their day out' as it was termed by the chairman, Dr. Joseph V.G. They also gave their views on how this day that holds so much importance for them can be made more special. According to Ms. Hazra, she enjoyed the events of the day but felt that the programmes should be planned in such a way that they are more interactive and inclusive. In her words, “There should be something in which we can participate instead of just being spectators. This will make the alumni feel more involved and make the day memorable for them.”

Irrespective of the reason that brought the people to campus, one thing could be inferred to be common among them all. This is the gratitude they feel for their Alma mater. As Mr. Amit Peters said in simple but strong words, “Special thanks to each and everyone that belongs to the Garden City family. It is their contribution and blessings that have made us what we are today.”
Their love for their Alma mater becomes evident when one reflects on the words of some of the alumni present on the occasion. Mr. Abhijeet expressed it beautifully when he said, “No matter how far we are from the college today but we still harbour a great degree of affinity for our former place of learning that acted as a stepping stone for our careers.”

The Founder's Day and Reunion 2007 was a celebration deeply seeped in emotions and fond memories that the former Gardenians have of their beloved college. The presence of alumni who managed to take a few hours out of their busy schedules is an evidence of the magnitude of value that the alumni of any institution attach to such reunions.
