In this issue Maneshka Silva and Ashley Alleluya of BA (Journalism, Psychology & English) offer the foodies a double treat – not one but three reviews after visiting all the food outlets at the Lido Mall as promised and Chung's After Simply Sizzlers, they present two restaurants from the other end of the food court – State of Punjab and Chaat Bazaar and Chung's Chinese Corner

WE WERE PLESANTLY surprised that an outlet so small can be so generous with their portions. We ordered the Murg Methi with Naans and received enough to feed two people heartily. The chicken was tender and the gravies were nicely flavored – not too spicy, not too bland. The Naans were fluffy and soft and quite east to break unlike some restaurants whose Naans tend to be rubbery. The food is good but not exceptionally so. It’s perfect if you’re hungry and want a nice quick hot meal. You Maneshka Silva Ashley Alleluya can also choose a variety of dishes like Chhole Bhature, Paneer Tikka, Rogan Josh, and many other delectable Punjabi favorites. Our verdict: Reasonably priced, the food is good value for money. An added advantage is that they serve their food piping hot. Visit this place for a true taste of North India. Chaat Bazaar

OF THE TWO of us, OAshley was brought up on the street food of Mumbai and after coming to Bangalore, she has always complained that she has not been able to find the true taste of Mumbai in the street food in Bangalore. So when the two of us approached Chaat Bazaar, we did it very tentatively. We ordered the Bombay Bhel Puri and the Delhi Papdi Chaat. We settled down at our table with a lot of apprehension.
Then we decided to take a bite and judge whether the food was good enough. Lo and behold!The taste of Bombay and Delhi came back tickling our taste buds. The Chaats were simply scrumptious and really hit the spot -crispy, tangy, sweet and spicy - all in a mouthful. The Chaats at Chaat Bazaar will really make you go “Yum!” Very easy on the pocket, this outlet also offers other street favourites from Delhi and Bombai like Paani Puri, Sev Puri, Sev Batata Puri, Dahi Puri and Aloo Tikki Chaat. Our Verdict: We highly recommend this place and guarantee you will walk out completely satisfied

Chung’s CHINESE CORNER .
Gardern city college students are without a doubt students on a budget. But just like students from all other colleges in Bangalore , they like to go out, have a nice time and eat good food. Therefore, it becomes ourresponsibility to hunt for great places that not only serve good food but have prices that are very easy on the pocket, which is why we proudly present to you a restaurant that is perfectly suited to the GCC students in all aspects. It is not too far fromcollege, offers superb food and is value for money. In today’s column we give you Chung’s Chinese Corner!! We entered this restaurant
expecting average to good Chinese cuisine but we were very happy to find friendly andhelpful waiters, fast service and of course, delicious food.

To begin with, the menu is very user-friendly with pictures to accompany most of them. We decided to order American Chop-suy, Dragon Chop-suy, Chung’s Special Chop-suy, Mixed Koilthai, Shanghai Chicken and Schezuwan Fried Rice. The American Chop-suy is a mouthwatering concoction of vegetable in think sauce, while the Mixed Koilthai is a Malaysian specialty although difficult to reach presently due to the metro constructions, is a nice place to eat at if you’re looking for a quiet gathering with friends and loved ones or just going to enjoy good, hot, fresh food. which is flat noodles with prawns, fish and chicken in abundance.

Our favorite was the Schezuwan Fried Rice which had a great oriental taste and we found it a delight to try all these dishes which were uniquely from the East. For those of you who are alien to oriental cuisine, there are also recipes that blend Indian delicacies with an envelope of Chinese cuisine. The ambiance of Chung’s is laid back and ideal for a gathering with friends on a weekend.

However, be aware that this is a popular venue among Chinese food lovers and gets filled up by peak-time. So we suggest you visit this place before peak hours. Located on CMH Road, in Indiranagar, this small restaurant
prices are surprisingly very reasonable compared to other Chinese restaurants and the portions are plentiful. Do drop by for a meal if you’re visiting the Trust Office, if you’re looking for a cozy place to celebrate an occasion, or if you simply must eat Chinese food.
