Thoughts "A rigid person is never liked by
anybody and it is also an uphill task
to mend them. Moreover intelligence
with arrogance and rigid nature is the
most dangerous combination that anybody
could have and leads to their complete
devastation."
To co-exist in this world we should have a
Tgreat deal of flexibility in our thoughts. If we are not accommodative of others thoughts,
we need not expect anybody to accept our ideas.
Every relationship is strengthened by each one's
flexible thoughts. If we are rigid, it is quite difficult
to continue a good relationship with others in the
society.
Our rigid nature might have crept in us even
without our knowledge. But the suffering that we
might have to encounter on account of this is
disheartening. To get along with others, you ought to
be flexible. After all human life is some thing that you
have been blessed with to love and nurture
relationships.
Having rigid ideologies and trying to force it on
others will not work always. As Mahatma Gandhi is
quoted: “It has always been a mystery to me how
men can feel themselves honoured by the
humiliation of their fellow beings.” This statement is
very apt and people with rigid mentality will not have
peace within themselves. A rigid person is never liked
by anybody and it is also an uphill task to mend them.
Moreover intelligence with arrogance and rigid
nature is the most dangerous combination that
anybody could have and leads to their complete
devastation.
The rigid nature is an irrevocable characteristic in
man and to explain this I wish to cite a story.
An old businessman who has been shrewd all
throughout his life and had amassed plenty of wealth
conning people lay on his death bed with a lot of
suffering. He would not listen to any of his family
members and all feared his rigid attitude. With a lot of
persuasions, he agreed to call for a priest in order to
anoint himself as a part of the last sacrament. The
priest arrived and as a word of relief told the old man
that he would pray for him to relieve his miseries. The
priest suggested to the old man to recollect his wrong
doings in the past and ask the Almighty God for
forgiveness. As the priest continued with the prayer,
he observed to his utter dismay a lot of improvement
in the old man who was restless and had started
smiling with joy. The priest could not resist and asked
the old man how he felt so better. The old man replied
with a lot of vigor stating that as he went down the
memory lane, it was horipilating and it excited him.
(The old man's rigid nature was with him even on his
death bed too.). It is quite unfortunate that the old
man even in his death bed relished the sin doings of
his past rather than seek forgiveness from the
Almighty. It shows his rigidity in his last moments and
nobody could change it. Even the near and dearer
ones would not pardon the old man.
By accommodating others thoughts in to ours, we
actually elate our position and excel in our
relationships. The world and our family needs people
who are accommodative in nature to shoulder the
responsibilities in making the world a better place to
live. Let us from today not just live for ourselves but
for others too
