Chowpatty Beach:-
Who doesn't know about the Chowpati Kulfi and Chowpati Chat? Well, here is the origin. A stroll in the evening, reenergises you, and let you have a glimpse of the Mumbai's culture. Also a popular beach where celebration of festivals such as Coconut Day and the Ganesh Chaturthi immersions take place. One can find professional massesurs, pony leaders, beebee-gun shooting galleries, contortionists, snake charmers, monkey-trainers, balloon sellers, flower-girls and lots more.
On the beach are statues of india's freedom fighters, Lokmanya Tilak and Vithalbhai Patel who symbolise the freedom struggle. Chowpatty occupies a special place in the life of Bombay, having been the venue of mass political meetings in the pre-independence era.
Marine Drive:-
Remember the famous Munna Bhai's song at Marine Drive? Well, Queen's Necklace, as it is popularly known as Marine Drive is a 3 km long avenue in South Mumbai, shaped like an inverted 'C'. It has six lanes and run along the coast and is a natural bay on Arabian Sea. It connects Nariman Point to Babulnath and Malabar Hill. The chief attraction of Marine Drive is the Promenade, officially known as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Road. Sunset views here are just fabulous and palm trees line the Promenade
Many restaurants and famous hotel groups can be found here. Walkeshwar on Marine Drive, houses the governor of Maharashtra is another elite area of Mumbai. Marine Drive boasts of highest real estate prices in India. The street lights lit in the night look like sparkling diamonds from a high point. It is also said to be the world's largest viewing gallery.
Hanging Gardens :-
Also known as the Ferozeshah Mehta Gardens, they are built over 3 reservoirs, which store billions of gallons of water for cleaning before they are pumped to the thirsty city of Mumbai.
Colaba: -
The hub of tourist activity in Mumbai, Colaba is known for its street stalls, cafes and kitsch ambience. Colaba is also home to the most pocket friendly guesthouses and economy hotels
Haji Ali's Mosque:-
Situated in between the Arabian Sea, is a whitewashed fairytale mosque containing the tomb of the Muslim saint Haji Ali.
Essel World:-
This is Mumbai's only international-style amusement centre situated close to Gorai Beach. Special ferries get you across to the park and the entrance fee normally takes care of a fixed number of rides. These include the standard roller coaster and adventure themes, plus a water world section where kids can literally run amok.
Kanheri Caves :-
The Kanheri Caves are located in the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Mumbai. The Kanheri Caves consist of a number of rock-cut Buddhist caves. These caves were built in the 1st century BC when Mumbai was the territory of the Maurayan and Kushan empires. The caves are deep inside the National Park in Mumbai. The caves are approximately 450 meters above seal level and from here.
