True education embodies the physical, emotional and ethical development of an individual, concurs Pooja Trivedi, who is passing out from the Department of Biotechnology. “To complete my bachelor's degree and now masters, I take pride in declaring myself a graduate of GCC,” she asserts. “The motto, 'Emphasis is on life' holds true since the college made me aware of the facts of life.”

But GCC is not only a trendsetter in India. Amidst the graduates from the country, it was a pleasure chatting Babak, a native of Iran. Having completed his Masters of Business Administration, the sociable Iranian appreciates the hospitable environment the college offers foreigners. “The college has come up with excellent facilities and lecturers who are genuinely committed to help students,” he says. “I have never been so nostalgic living so far away from home.'

Certainly, it's not the end of it all. Smriti Ojha from Agra and a Masters of Science in Microbiology graduate believes nothing else supersedes GCC. “This place has taught me a myriad of things- independence, tolerance, the ability to make adjustments to mention but three.” And then there is Praveen Pal from the state of Uttaranchal who opted to pursue M.Sc. in Biochemistry. “The college helped building my confidence to face the challenges of the world,” he says. Being apart of Industry Integrated Program, he believes he will soon be well settled in future.

Another MBA post graduate, Mohd Abrar Sheikh from Jammu and Kashmir says it's been fun studying in GCC yet according to the Jharkhand's Ruchi Srivastava of the Department of Biotechnology, the discipline at the college stood out. “We enjoyed every moment here but after five years in college, I have learnt the tenets of discipline and how to be well organized”.

Listening to these students share their experiences, something struck me.

“If wealth is lost, nothing is lost,
If health is lost something is lost,
But, if character is lost everything is lost”

Do these words sound familiar? Well, these are famous words that relate to an individual's life, on the verge of becoming an adult. How true they are. Success or failure of a person largely depends upon the character. Keeping this in mind one should pay attention in developing the overall personality. Having completed a phase in the life and heading towards another battlefield, here is wishing all of the graduating students the very best in their future endeavours.
