Have you ever a noticed a flying object in the sky, which for some reason was unexplainable by you? Well, if yes, than you are among some thousands lucky people around the world who have sighted a UFO.
So, what is a UFO? Well, A UFO is, technically an "unidentified flying object," nothing more nor less.

Any object that flies and cannot initially be identified as an airplane, helicopter, blimp, balloon, kite, or any other object that normally flies, is a UFO. Many flying objects that are listed as a UFO can later be identified as an object made on Earth, then they can be called an "IFO," or identified flying object.

But for the rest of the sightings, it's still a UFO. Till date there have been more than thousands of UFOs sightings every year, with many photographic as well as video evidences, though most of them turn to be hoaxes.

Flying Discs and Saucers have been the manifesto of Sci-Fi, Hollywood movies, in last four decades, and now recently in Indian Cinemas also, remember “Koi Mil Gaya” and it's much anticipated sequel “Krish”? Though with its Indian touch of family melodrama. But come to think of it, is it really a pure human imagination? In my personal opinion, were majority of findings turn out to be hoaxes, the very basic idea that we are alone in the universe, sounds too absurd..

One of my personal experience with UFO encounter was few year ago in Chandigarh. An illuminated object, hovering about a distance of 5 Km, and then zooming out in the night sky at astonishing speed, made me spellbound. The good thing was that I was not a loner, a few of my friends also witnessed the same phenomena, and the fact I had spent my major chunk of life, in and around military aircrafts, ruled out any instances of benefit of doubts, to this day, it's unexplained.

What followed after that was my intense interest in UFOs. What I learnt after a lot of studying revealed to me, well at least UFOs and Extra Terrestrial holds more water than ghosts. Come to think of it, UFO's are not new; ever thought of the devastating description of weapons in Mahabharata? What could be fire from the skies? According to many Ufologists, the ability to use such weapons which describe the intensity of a nuclear payload, must have been handed over to earthlings by the Gods or in other words highly advance extra terrestrial space man,

Not only in Indian Ancient epics, but also in the bible, there are lot of descriptions of heavenly bodies from skies, could it be that these were instances of alien encounter? And what about the cave art of the ancient man, depicting, a human like creatures with, big helmets and having astonishing similarity to a modern astronauts.

Alien encounters in the past, can go even beyond this and may lead to you to Nazca lines. So what are the Nazca lines?

The Nazca Lines are a series of geoglyps located in the Nazca Desert, a high arid plateau that stretches 53 miles or more than 80 kilometers between the towns of Nazca and Palpa on the Pampas de Jumana in Peru. They were created by the Nazca Culture between 200B.C and 700 AD. There are hundreds of individual figures, ranging in complexity from simple lines to stylized hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, and lizards.

The fact Nazca lines cannot be recognized as coherent figures except from the air, make it a topic of discussion among scientists. Since it is presumed the Nazca people could never have seen their work from this vantage point, there has been much speculation on the builders' abilities and motivations. So, how did the Nazca lines were actually built thousands of years ago, without the ability to fly in the air? Although Nazca lines are just one example, which is highly unexplainable, but we can also count Pyramids, the Stonehenge and other such ancient example of super craftsmanship of mankind in the category of unexplainable too. As these monuments were made with almost impossible precision and understanding of that era. Although today we have quiet practical explanations for them, still there is lot more to answer.

What make UFO's a step closer to reality is the fact, UFO sightings are not confined to only developed nations like US and UK, but even India, Afghanistan and Brazil like countries. A close encounter by Indian team of 11 scientists at Chandratal Lake was well documented with photographic evidences. The fact that the people involved here were not ordinary citizens but ISRO scientists. India Today, was one the first to publish an article on it with the photogprahs. What they saw was one oblong object, between 3 and 4 ft high, kept moving down the slope towards the team. It had a cylindrical head with two balloon-type attachments, a body, hands and two legs.

So, where does this all leads to? For the non-believers it's still a science fiction, but for the rest it's out there. UFOs and alien are similar to ghosts, those who have seen it, believe it. But surely we cannot just rule out the possibility that we are not being visited by people from outer world.
