Excerpts from the Chat:
GCC World:
Congratulations on the honour of being Gardenian of the Month!
How would you like to introduce yourself to the readers?

Ms. Nancy George: Thank you. I am really honoured. I am in my final year doing my Bachelor’s in Fashion and Apparel Design. I come from God’s Own Country, Kerala. I am a simple and humble person, very talkative and fun loving.

GCC World: Your childhood and family

Ms. Nancy George: Though I was born in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and did my schooling there, I grew up in a calm and silent village of scenic beauty and completed my Uppers and Highers in Thrissur, the cultural capital of Kerala at the prestigious Nirmala Matha Central School. I am the proud daughter of Mr. George TT, a Draftsman (retd) and Mrs. Annamma George, a retired staff nurse. I have a younger brother, Christopher George who is in his 10th Class back home.

GCC World: Why did you choose FAD? What are the prospects in this field?

Ms. Nancy George: Ever since I was in 8th Class, I was fascinated by the glamour of the fashion world...the new creations, styles...just about everything that came to my sight. I was anxious and wanted to try out my hand at creativity. I would be left wondering as to how the prints on the leaves would look if made into a design
and sorts of crazy staff. I then put my desire before my father...and here I am! Anyone with a creative mind can excel in FAD. After one completes a course in FAD, one would be a fashion designer and can work in the retail sector or industry.
GCC World:
Your best and worst momentsat GCC?

Ms. Nancy George: It is not easy to enumerate all the good things as there are loads. Some of them would be during Gardenia...the fights, the crying, and the
tears, the patching up and celebrations...A memory that is imprinted in my heart...forever! The worst moments? Nothing except the times when the overload would put a toll on me and another...when I made an announcement... ‘Discuss Brow Toys’ instead of ‘Discuss Throw Boys’.

GCC World: What does the college mean to you?

Ms. Nancy George:
GCC made me the person I am today. A place that has nurtured my talents and a second home. A place that has taught me a lot about life, where I got acquainted to a lot of people. A place where I conquered my fears and learnt to stand up on my own. GCC is the reason why I am here now talking to you. In my first year, I wanted to ‘run away’...in my second year, I thought, ‘may be’ and in my final year, ‘I don’t wanna leave’.
