Thoughts I would henceforth like Founder’s Day to be a day dedicated to the alumni of this The most unique and special factor about Garden City College is the willingness to change. It is a reminder of our treasured resourcefulness. We as a family have always T cherished and aspired to arrive at for the well being of our societies. As we leave behind an academic year and herald another, we can only look back with humility and marvel at all the little things we have accomplished as we witness the blessings the Almighty has showered on us continue to blossom into bigger things. With our humble beginnings, our campus remains the cynosure of all eyes. Indeed we have grown to embrace a multi cultural, multi ethnic and multi lingual existence, a global village to be precise, drawing upon the efforts of a dedicated team and students who have only one wish – to keep up to the ideals we set out to script in the educational landscape . The students who have been with us have made us proud and injected new optimism on campus that rubs on the newly arriving students. And the parents have always been very supportive and never shied away from their responsibilities. But as we enter a new phase, it is once again time to shift gears, a call for newer challenges. I humble myself before the Almighty God and raise my arms in awe for steering us this far. If in the past we have ushered in new innovations, this year will be even more special. Firstly, there is the realization of the dream - a full-fledged sports complex on campus. It has always been my belief that as an educational conglomerate, our goals will remain unfulfilled if we do not give to the nation graduates who are not only sound academically but in mind and spirit. Let me emphasize here that only the best of sports facilities will have a place. And the importance of this venture should not be lost on us. With the Beijing Olympics on the offing, the quest for India’s first Olympic gold medal could well have began in earnest with the blessing of the new sports ground by the man of God, Rev .Fr. Anthony Swamy. Secondly, in my regular interactions with our alumni, it is gratifying to see those radiating never-ending smiles. They nurture lofty ideals for their alma mater in whichever role they have embraced even though like every one of us, they too are anxious about what the future portends. I would henceforth like 18th June – the Founder’s Day to be a day dedicated to the alumni of this institution. This will be a day to for Re-union. A day alumni return back to their alma mater and reflect on ways in which we can steer our institutions forward. This will also be a time all stakeholders will come together and pledge that together, ‘we can’. Most importantly, this will be a time to work on the incredible things that will make the alma mater more special. I once again convey my best wishes to the students passing out from our campuses this year. Wherever their aspirations may lead them, I would like to remind them that they have another home to turn back to, be it in their moments of happiness and unbridled joy or times of sadness and despair. Think always of GCC as your place, to seek help and walk again should you fall, or just share in the fruits of your success, when you rise. This is what will make us truly be happy with our clarion call - Emphasis is on Life Dr. Joseph.V.G., Chairman, .
