It won't be wrong as the experts say that, "Animation is booming like no other industry". Animation is not new to mankind. an Egyptian wall decoration circa 2000 bc depicts, on successive panels, the actions of two wrestlers in a variety of holds. In leonardo da vinci's most famous paintings, he displays, how the limbs would be in various actions. But still, it's been only last century that animation emerged as an art & science fusion. Stunning scenario shows, it's employing thousands of personnel in a $ 45 billion animation and special visual FX industry. Animation's applications are varied and have kept on expanding at a vast rate ever since it's exposure to the world or so called evolution. Animation is extensively exploited by many organizations like animation studios, dotcom companies, advertising and multemedia concerns and publication houses.
Animation is one part talent and two parts of skill and hard work. A perfect animator should be a good dreamer with imaginative thoughts. creativity and sheer hard work stands next. Drawing skills, colour principles, acting principles, good communicative skills and inclination towards art and music are helpful possessions of a genious animation artist. A good animator should be a perfectionist in presenting his imaginative ideas as per demands through his animative skills. The more realistic the presentation appears, better is the animation and it's artist. Passion to experiment and innovate is another prerequisite. The artist should be susceptible to innovate ideas and techniques with latest trend. Like any other field team-work and stiff deadlines is always demanded and respected.
So far animation was limited to developed countries like US, Australia, UK, etc. but with the revolution brought up by information & technology in recent years, developing countries like India, Pakistan and the Gulf have no more remained unaffected. One big aspect of animation arena is outsourcing. Current survey has revealed that globally, all eyes have turned towards India as next destination. The simple logical reason behind it is that, countries like India provide high quality work at extremely low cost. An example can be cited that a full length animated movie excuted in U.S.A. would incur an expenditure of around $ 6 billion and same would be completed in India for mere $ 50 million. So, this vast difference in input attracts many big budget directors. On top of this Indian animation artists are ranked among the best in the world because of their sheer labour, quality consciousness, creativity and technological proficiency with good command over international language i.e; english. According to nasscom's research, India's animation industry is expected to grow from the current $ 60 million to $ 5 billion in coming 3 years.
For the people who dare to dream 3D animation, who would like their career filled with passion excitment and technological advancement, animation is the skill to be master. It is a perfect fusion of art and science to produce stunning visual effects. such 3D characters and visual effects are made possible by international standard software packages operated by skilled animation artists.
At any animation academy students are trained to use the software creatively and enhance their skills with the training programmes which focuses on core aspects of 2D as well as 3D animation comprising of story-board & concepts, modelling, texturing, cameras & lighting, animation, rendering and visual FX. The traning methodology of any academy should be set on a world class platform. Students should be prepared in such a manner that they emerge out as quality professionals and reach out for global careeer in animation which has it's huge gate wide open for high quality professionals. As per the report served by nasscom, 3 lakh skilled professionals will be needed in the country itself by 2008. There is no point to loose your share of this colossal and rewarding prospect. for one who is still in dilemma, merely this could be said, " Look around yourself and almost everywhere you will see animation on operation. So, all the aspiring future animators out there, psych up to animate your future, dreams and career.
