The concept of buffets is quite a welcome elcome change in India. Usually we order from a-la-carte menu, have our fill or sometimes not and return satiated. But buffets are something else. You don’t have to make any choices. A fixed menu makes it so easy for the foodie who always wants to get over with the decision-making process of what to eat as fast as possible.

Barbeque Nation is one such joint where constraints of time and space do not trouble you. You can eat as much as you want and for however longer. It is ENTIRELY your choice. For food lovers like us, this is nothing short of paradise.

Situated at the end of 100ft road, just before the domlur flyover, white buildings. Three floors make it easy for the managers to accommodate the constant flow of visitors. The furniture is comfortable and suited for the people who intend to make full use of the opportunity to hog. The lighting is subdued, the music helps you eat more, and the service is exemplary. The food (you may want to hold your breath) is the BEST that you will eat in Bangalore.

What makes this place different form other buffet places is the novelty of a live-grill. The starters are placed on your table not in dishes but on the barbeque grill itself. This grill is put in a depression in your table. The starters are supplied till you say no. this is followed by the main course. You can choose from an amazing array of dishes, heap them on you plate and enjoy the experience. The desserts are the last round of this battle between the

will of the heart and the capacity of the stomach. The menu is changed after every three days. The spread is huge. When we went, the starters were Chicken Shestakook, Mutton Kakori Kebab, Tandoori Bageecha, Chilli Garlic baby Potatoes and paneer Achari. This was accompanied by humus with falafel. You are also offered a free drink where you are given a choice of a beer, an aerated drink or iced tea or lime soda. The bar is open and most exotic drinks are available. Sometimes the starters include Lebanese Chicken, Mutton gillafi Seek, baby potatoes with mango mustard sauce etc. The main course is quite spread out. Murgh Baghdadi, Chicken or Mutton dum Biryani, Roasted Lamb in Mint Sauce, Fish in Bell Pepper sauce, Thai green veg, Handi vegetables, Paneer siya Mirch, Dal-e-Dum, Plain rice, and Pasta in Arabiata Sauce complete the picture. The deserts are delicious. Mocha Pastry, Pineapple Cheese Cake, Angoori Gulab Jamoon, Triffle pudding, Vanilla Ice Cream, Fresh fruits, and Chocolate walnut pudding made sure that we could not leave even one millimetre space unoccupied in our stomachs. The buffet is priced at Rs.281 per head. A bit expensive but totally worth it. You cannot go there once a month as your tummy will not allow itself to be sacrificed at the altar of your taste. So once a month trip to barbeque nation is just and therapeutic.
