Excerpts from the Interview: Q: Tell us about your experiences as a management trainee? A: Well, there is plenty to say. I have met and interacted with people from all walks of life, improved a lot on my public speaking skills and got the opportunity to learn about the corporate world and how it functions. This has been possible because I am one of the GCC management trainees. Q: How did you develop an interest in Genetics? A: It must have been during my th schooling. I was in my 8 standard and was always curious about Biology. I was fascinated how a single DNA could develop active organisms when I was taught about micro organisms. That is when I realized that I should do something in the field of Genetics. Q: As a sports person, tell us about your experiences? A: India is still lagging behind in many sports disciplines. May be there is too much attention given to certain sports disciplines at the expense of others. I think all the sports disciplines should be treated equally. I have always enjoyed playing cricket and I am an avid fan of Saurav Ganguly. Q: As a sports person, you must have watched Chak de India. What is your take on the movie? A: Well, I must admit Chak de India is a marvelous to watch. This is one of the best movies to have come from Bollywood in recent times. It is after a long period of time that a sports flick of this nature has been made. In real life, sports persons are a frustrated lot with no tangible encouragement coming their way. Women bear the brunt of this injustice. Chak de India has shown that given opportunities, women will do better than men. There should not be any gender bias in any society. Q: Advice for management trainees? A: Don't break anybody's record. Create yours. Q: Your motto in life? A: When you mother dreams of something, try to fulfil it.
