This is Sajid Khan's first movie as a director. He has shown his Tmettle as a comedy star and proved it yet again through his directorial debut. The story starts with three friends who settled in Australia. They are really enjoying their life to the fullest as bachelors. With no responsibilities on their shoulders, all they are doing is leading a carefree life. One fine morning, these guys get the greatest shock of their lives. Akshay discovers a baby girl abandoned outside their door. They start to blame each other but have no clue as to who is the father of the child. The baby girl becomes a real hurdle for them. Their life gets stuck within the four walls since they cannot go anywhere. All they want is to get rid of her. So, Fardeen decides to leave the baby outside a church. All of a sudden, it starts pouring. They all become worried about the fate of the child and decide to return to where they had dumped her. By the time they reach the place, she is already unconscious. They rush her to the doctor who informs them that her chances of survival are slim. For the first time they decide to pray. Luckily for them, the baby regains consciousness. The baby becomes the turning point of their life. Since she was their messiah, they name her Angel. They also become very attached to her. And then, the unexpected happens. The mother comes in the picture. This character is played by Vidya Balan. Then Akshay comes to the realization that he is the father of the child. Vidya demands to keep the baby since she claims Akshay cheated on her. After much struggle, Vidya acknowledges the attachment of the baby to her father and decide to patch up to give the baby a better future. Shah Rukh Khan makes a guest appearance in one song and one must say it is quite catchy. From action hero Akshay has changed to comedy hero. The transition has been slow and steady and is worth praising. Ritesh does his job to the immense satisfaction of the crowd. Though the entry of Vidya Balan is in the second half of the movie, she really looks good with her new look. She did set many hearts a flutter. But the real charm and the pearl of the movie is the little baby. To say that she is really adorable is an understatement. The movie is well shot with good editing and has secured its position as one of all time hits. Sajid does a very good job. This movie is a comedy and a good time-pass movie with a flavor that will remind you of it long after it is over, long after you are back from the theatre. Soumee Mitra BA (Journo, Psy and Eng)
