Talent pool are the perfect words to describe Bishesh, and T2 year student of the Department of Fashion and Apparel Design. His graceful dance movements are truly a treat to connoisseurs. He is also an excellent makeup artist. GCC World had the pleasure in meeting this humble Gardenian.
Tell us a little about your growing up days?
I was born and brought up in Manipur. It was once called the Jewel of India. From the time I was young I developed a keen interest for dancing, but my father was against it because he thought it will hinder with my
education. Despite my father's opposition I still went on to take part in dancing competitions and fashion shows. I had to stop for sometime because I had to concentrate on my education.
How did you develop an interest for dancing?
Dancing has always been a part of me.I was fascinated by the movies and the
dance performances. From then on I started practicing in front of the mirror. Not anymore though that's how started developing an interest.
You are an excellent make-up Artist, how did you become so perfect?
Make-up! Well I learnt a lot of it on my own. Yet again it's the movies that fascinated me. I keenly observe the make-up and then I try it on myself. That's how I picked the nuances of dance.
Your dance is so graceful and rhythmic. How do you manage to make time for practice and cope up with your daily college work as well?
Honestly, I don't practice. It's mostly spontaneous, but I watch the songs on television and pick up few steps. Even then most of my dance is mostly on the spot. Dancing is my hobby so I think I manage without practice. I
have not had any formal training and I believe I can manage on my own. So far I'm happy with the results.
Will you continue dancing in thefuture?
As I mentioned earlier, dance is only a hobby. I am more focused on my fashion designing, choreography and
make-up. I want to pursue a career in fashion designing. But I might continue my hobby whenever I get time.
What are your plans for the future?
I want to be unique in my field. I practice my talents on myself and then do it on others. I want to extend my services to the fashion world. It has always been my dream to become a fashion designer, and I am working hard towards achieving thatgoal.
You are considered to be one of the best dancers on campus. How would you react to such
compliments?
I don't think that I'm the best. I think its by God's grace that I have been able to bring out my talents. I've never felt shy while dancing in front of a huge audience and I have always taken criticisms positively. I feel the GCC
audience is the best. The students here always encourage me a lot. That makes me dance well. I'm happy the
audience appreciates my dancing.
Your advice to the budding dancers and fashion designers ?
Believe in what you do, and always be focused, whether you're a designer or dancer work hard and success will follow. The GCC World team wishes Bishesh the very best of luck in his future endeavors.
